Career Best In The Czech Republic For Harry Khouri
Harry Khouri kickstarted the second half of the 2022 FIM Supersport 300 World Championship at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic in style this past weekend, achieving a career best fourth on the grid in Superpole before finishing a superb seventh in the first of the two thirteen lap encounters.
Race 1 saw the talented Aussie start strong, running in the lead group throughout, narrowly missing a place on the podium. He finished P7, happy to have shown his true potential but frustrated that his top speed prevented an attack in the closing stages.
Unfortunately Race 2 was a short affair, Harry taken out, not for the first time this season in the early stages.
Despite yesterday’s DNF, #CZEWorldSBK was a positive one for Khouri who secured his best result in the World Championship, something he is proud of, and rightly so.
Harry Khouri:
“I qualified fourth after a strong Superpole which took the stress out of things a little as I knew I wouldn’t have to fight so hard to get through the pack. I made a good start and was able to run in the front group for the whole race. It’s my best result in the World Championship and it gives me a lot of confidence for the rest of the season. After such a good day on Saturday it was a shame to end the weekend on the floor through no fault of my own on Sunday. It was a fast crash but thankfully I am ok and already looking forward to France. We have some things we need to work on, but I am confident that we can be even stronger at the next one.”
The championship resumes in France in early September after the annual summer break.
