Harry shows pace in Portugal
It was a mixed weekend for Australian Harry Khouri in the latest round of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal.
After a strong start on Friday that saw Khouri lapping as one of the fastest riders, the #43 qualified deep in the pack which then compromised him in both races.
A strong start in both twelve lap encounters saw Harry improve his position significantly before a technical issue forced his Race 1 retirement and a retirement whilst fighting in the leading group put him out of Race 2.
Round four of the series takes place in Italy at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli over the weekend of June 10-12.
Harry Khouri:
“The weekend didn’t turn out the way I wanted, especially after such a good Friday. I struggled in Race 1 and then we had a chain break which put me out of the race. Race 2 was a bit better, and I managed to work my way up the field but then I tangled with another rider and bent the handlebar. I made the decision to stop as it was unsafe to continue. We made a big step on Sunday though and even though we end Round 3 with a double DNF I am confident that we will have a strong weekend in Misano.”
